About Chaga Mushrooms

Our Chaga mushroom glycerites are triple extracted before we remove the alcohol and add vegetable glycerin. First we ferment the mushrooms to make the polysaccharides, triterpenoids, and alkaloids more bioavailable. Next, we do a hot water extraction, as polysaccharides are water soluble. And third, we do an extraction of 90 days in alcohol, for the triterpenoids, which are alcohol soluble. It takes us around 100 days to make a tincture, then we remove the alcohol to create a glycerite!

In raw mushrooms, the main active constituents, the 1,3-Beta Glucans, are tightly bound to the cell walls and have a low degree of bioavailability. To target this issue and boost bioavailability of the constituents, all mushrooms undergo a steam activation process that breaks down the cell walls and frees the 1,3-Beta Glucans from the chitin. We cultivate both the mycelium and fruiting bodies of the mushrooms in our products. All our mushroom powders start as organically grown mushrooms right here in the United States!
